How do you solve organizational problems around your home, in your car, at the office? Share your best organizing tips by posting a comment, below.
Posted by: Sherri Rosen| June 01, 2007 at 11:37 AM I bought two sets of german bedding - plus sheets. I use the left over veggie and fruit trays one buys for entertaining to organize numerous things in my drawers. They are compartmentalized and are about the depth of most drawers. One example is for the hosery by type, color, etc. Crafters should find lots of uses for these, and you may want to keep the lids. I keep a list of medicine dosages for my kids (now 8. 6, 4 & 2) posted on the inside of a kitchen cabiniet. I list the most common medicines (ibuprofin, tylenol, benedryl, etc) and next to each child's name I type the dose & frequency for each. When the kids were little it was great for babsitters or my husband not to try to figure out the dosage, especially when dosages were not listed on the bottle. I type the date on the bottom of the page and update yearly, though when the kids were younger I updated it more frequently. I love to read magazines and clip out different ideas - decorating, organizing, etc. The best time to organize my home is when I am watching my favorite TV shows that do not require very much concentration (like "The Bachelor" or "American Idol". The time passes quickly because I am enjoying the show while I am organizing. Put things away as soon as you're finished with them. |

I am always cutting out articles and tips from magazines (especially Real Simple) and I now have everything in a looseleaf binder separated by categories - medical information, how to's, etc. I also have a looseleaf binder with different recipes that I see either in magazines or online and have them also separated by food. It makes things easier to find.
